Square history
Piazza del Duomo is Milan's heart, a place with centuries of history. Its current form came together in the late 19th century after Italian unification.
The equestrian statue of Victor Emmanuel II in the center was placed in 1896 - a symbol of Italian unity, still loved by locals.
